Yes, the holidays are right around the corner. Soon we’ll all be caught up in the hustle and bustle of shopping, cooking, baking, parties, family, friends. Just for a little longer wouldn’t you like to enjoy fall? Without school nights, home work and tests to worry about anymore, it’s quite possibly become my favorite season.
On a recent trip to Montana I snapped these photos up like a squirrel collecting acorns for the winter. Each is its own gem, completely untouched by any photo editing software; just nature in it’s full glory.

My mom used to describe fall weather as a “warm cool”. Here in Southern California it’s quite possibly the best weather of the year. The days are warm and mostly sunny and believe it or not, there is fall color. Not like New England, but the sycamores go yellow and the Liquidambars, a warm climate version of maples, turn orange, yellow, red and maroon. In fact there are three very mature Liquidambars directly across the street, dazzling with their beautiful changing display. They remind me of the colors I saw on my trip.

So here’s a last look at fall, a moment to pause, slow down, have a cup of tea and appreciate what’s right in front of us before we get too caught up in the season ahead. I raise my mug to you, Fall. Thank you for the beautiful display! Cheers!
